Job Summary:
United Homes Group, Inc./Great Southern Homes, Inc. is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Counsel to join its legal team. The ideal candidate will have experience negotiating sophisticated real estate transactions and real estate development, land use and acquisition experience with a broad general real estate background, including the ability to handle acquisitions, disposition, finance and other general portfolio management matters.
This position is primarily located in either Chapin, SC or Greenville, SC, with occasional travel within the state.
Job Responsibilities:
● Drafting and negotiation of land purchase agreements and a variety of other real estate documents, including easements, LOIs, and contract addendums
● Correspondence with sellers and developers of land
● Managing claims related to construction, warranty, and environmental matters
● Monitoring the impact of federal and state legislative changes and county and municipal permitting or land-use changes
● Engaging with local government and other officials including county and municipal councils, planning commissions, boards of zoning appeals, and boards of architectural review.
Qualifications:
● Licensed to practice Law in the State of South Carolina
● Have at least 5 years of experience
● Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written
● Attention to detail and experience in drafting a variety of real estate documents
● Self-motivated and able to work independently
● Experience with land use and environmental matters is preferred
