Responsibilities:
The Land Acquisitions Associate will work hand in hand with the company’s principal to source, evaluate, acquire, entitle, and develop land projects throughout California. Responsibilities will include:
- Managing the acquisitions process through sourcing, underwriting, and diligencing new land acquisition opportunities for ultimate development into for-sale housing: single family subdivisions, townhomes, master-planned communities, etc.
- Developing and nurturing strong relationships with real estate brokers to gain access to a steady pipeline of acquisition opportunities inclusive of regular meetings with brokers, attending industry events, etc.
- Detailed research of municipal zoning codes and California planning laws to identify target sites to source deals off market.
- Working and coordinating directly with third party vendors, brokers, lenders, and consultants on process management, due diligence, structuring, and negotiations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the land entitlement and/or for-sale residential development space such as a land entitlement / development investment company, a regional or national homebuilder, or a land-focused commercial brokerage firm.
- Detailed knowledge of site and product designing, land use planning, and land residual and highest and best use analysis process for various types of for-sale housing (both attached and detached).
- Deep network of brokers, builders, lenders, consultants, vendors, and intermediaries in the for-sale housing development space.
- Bachelor’s degree.
