The Controller is the primary financial point person for the Greensboro Division responsible for: driving the business plan, tracking key performance metrics, and managing the financial transactions throughout the month.
What does great look like?

Here’s a little highlight reel of day 1 duties and responsibilities:
- Guides all financial functions and other accounting/operational procedures within the Division
- Preparing and coordinating month and quarter end close process including projections/reports/analysis
- Create, Manage and Own Business Plan, quarterly updates, and quarterly re-forecast for presentation to Corporate
- Analyze key company metrics of Return on Investment, Gross Margin, Overhead Expenses and Operating Margin
- Leading the quarterly and annual budgeting and forecast process
- Ownership of monthly journal entries, monthly Division P&L, and variance analysis
- Partners with Operations by supporting and preparing analyses required for operational reviews, land acquisition and overall division strategy.
- Provides analytical support to all facets of the business to improve homebuilding operations and to identify opportunities for margin and return on investment improvement in areas such as revenue growth & cost reduction.
- Help with coordination of back-office operations including salaries & commissions, purchasing/architecture, construction coordination, and sales & deposit coordination.
- Field time - spend some time in the field to walk products, provide feedback on the experience and be an extra pair of eyes for fellow operational team members.
- Monitor compliance with internal company policies, controls and procedures.
- Meets deadlines associated with the financial calendar.
